Getting married requires many decisions – from the venue, date, dress, colors and many other important details. One thing that you may put on the back burner of the list of decisions to make for your wedding day are how you want to wear your nails!
You’ll want to make sure that you choose a color that compliments your overall wedding look. You can opt for neutral, nude or blush tones to keep a clean and elegant look. These colors also won’t distract from your bouquet or ring. Keep in mind when you’re looking to choose the perfect shade to keep your skin’s undertone in mind. Certain colors brighten skin tones while others can make the skin look washed out. Cool skin tones that are fair and have blue or pink undertones pair best with pinky nude shades. If you have a warmer skin tone with yellow or olive undertones, opt for a peachy neutral with golden and yellow undertones.
You’ll also want to decide if you’d like to wear a gel or regular nail polish. We suggest gel as a great option for your wedding day because it won’t chip or smudge like regular polish will. It also lasts up to two weeks so you’ll have perfect nails for your wedding day and honeymoon! If you don’t like the idea of gel, or if your nails are weak, the best alternative is a gel hybrid which you can easily do at home!
When it comes to length, you’ll want to be comfortable with the length and get something that is close to your typical style of nails. If you get something that you’re not used to, you’ll feel clumsy and awkward and might even rip your dress! We suggest aiming for medium-length almond shaped nails which elongate the nails and have a naturally elegant look.
Your nail bed shape also comes into play. Shorter nail beds look better with a shorter, less rounded and more square tip. Longer nail beds can pull off many shapes but look best with a rounded or oval tip.
If you want to do nail art, choose something that is subtle and not so distracting. You can try a cream to white ombre or classic half moon mani with a few embellishments to keep it classy. You can also do a french manicure with sparkle tips for a little glam effect. Whatever you do, don’t go overboard and choose something tacky. You want to look back at your wedding day and not hate your nail design!
